An Interesting Traveling Companion

If you have the money to travel you probably have your share of gadgets, too. Today’s review tells you about a handy little application that will make at least one of those gadgets into a more useful travel too. It may even save you from an embarassing situation!
The tool I’d like to tell you about is Handy Converter. This compact little application performs conversions between different measurements so that you can feel a lot more confident as you travel. For example, suppose you’re traveling in Germany and realize that you need a more formal-looking shirt than the polo shirts you packed. How can you figure out the correct size? Well, open up Handy Converter, choose the Size button, select from several options, and you find that your size 16 US is a size 41 in Germany. Simple idea, but awfully handy.
Sure, I know you can probably do some of these types of calculations in Pocket Excel, but then you’d have to know all of the conversion factors (and not make any errors creating the formulas). Considering the low cost, Handy Converter is a much easier solution.
Oh, and remember how I mentioned that Handy Converter might save you some embarassment? It turns out that even if you’re a spreadsheet wiz you’re going to have a tough time beating one of the features in this program. One of the conversion categories you’ll find in this app is currency. But what makes this a standout is the fact that you can click a button to tell the program to quickly go online and get the latest currency exchange rates. So when you see that price of 7500 Juan for a leather belt in a Chinese store, you’ll be able to quickly determine that it’s the equivalent of nearly $1100 US. Maybe next time?
